Define the application first
Water-resistant mortar and a cementitious waterproof coating are not necessarily the same product. Location, substrate and potential surface movement create different requirements.
Consider the whole formulation
Cement, particle size, water demand and polymer modification all affect performance. Increasing one additive will not necessarily solve the limiting factor.
Select through testing
